The Career Reality Experience®

The Career Reality Experience® is a week-long workshop for rising high school juniors and seniors held each summer at various locations. It's designed to help students discover "best fit" academic courses, college majors, and career fields to explore. See our 2011 workshop schedule for sessions held at The Lovett School and Woodward Academy open to students from all area high schools.

The variety and interactive elements create an experience that is both enjoyable and enlightening.

Personal Discovery & Preparation: Assessments and Business Communications

You will:

  • Take the Strong Interest Inventory® to help you identify your natural abilities as well as make the most of your strengths and personal style.
  • Take the Highlands Ability Battery™ to help you identify your natural abilities so that you can make the most of your strengths and personal style.
  • Use the Sherpani Partners' Values Card Sort to help you discover what is most important to you for career satisfaction and success.
  • Practice conducting informational interviews and prepare for company visits.
  • Develop business communications and letter writing skills for career exploration.
  • Create a personal Career Exploration Plan.

Real World Exploration: Visits with Business Professionals
Job Shadow or informational interview at a different company each afternoon. Career Reality Hosts, are individually selected for each student based on a telephone interview and the Strong Interest Inventory taken online before the workshop begins.

Career Reality Hosts are successful individuals who love what they do and are eager to share their accomplishments.

This week long experience can change how you view academic courses, open up new career fields to explore, or affirm that you are headed in the right direction.

Future Explorer Group

The Future Explorer Workshop for high school juniors and seniors is delivered upon request with as few as three and as many as ten participants. Students gain the confidence and self-knowledge necessary for them to take charge of their own academic and career decisions.

You will develop career goals and exploration plans based on objective assessment data and personal guidance. You'll then be ready to have meaningful discussions with parents, college counselors, and future employers about what you need to succeed.

You'll discover "best fit" academic courses, college majors and career fields to explore. It could open up a whole new career field to explore or give you peace of mind by affirming that you are headed in the right direction.

Our workshop format is flexible and can be scheduled on evenings or weekends throughout the year at various locations in the Atlanta area. Students meet as a group in two or three sessions generally for a total of 6 hours. They take the Strong Interest Inventory online before the workshop begins. The Highlands Ability Battery is taken online during the workshop. Parents are also offered a one hour group feedback session. $375 per student.

Future Explorer one on one

Sherpani Partners also offers the Future Explorer Workshop as an individual program for high school juniors and seniors. Students take the Strong Interest Inventory and the Highlands Ability Battery online before the workshop begins.

The two hour feedback is generally divided into two meetings and is scheduled at your convenience. Parents are given the option of attending some or all of the feedback. Additional guidance is also available upon request. $400 per student.

Career Launch Group Workshop

Sherpani Partners offers the Career Launch Group Workshop in the Atlanta area upon request with as few as three and as many as eight participants. Students gain the confidence and self-knowledge necessary for them to take charge of their academic and career decisions.

You will develop career goals and exploration plans based on objective assessment data and personal guidance.

You'll discover what really motivates you and the academic courses, college majors and career fields that best fit you. It could open up a whole new career field to explore or give you peace of mind by affirming that you are headed in the right direction.

Our workshop format is flexible and can be scheduled at your convenience, including evenings and weekends throughout the year at various Atlanta area locations. Students take the Strong Interest Inventory and the Highlands Ability Battery™ online before the workshop begins. Students meet as a group in two sessions generally for a total of 5 hours. $375 per participant.

Career Launch - one on one

Sherpani Partners also offers career exploration services to individual college and graduate students. We design a program for you based on the decisions you are facing- now and for your future. Our guidance often includes some of these assessments.

  • The Strong Interest Inventory®, college version - Can help you define what motivates you and what can keep you interested in your academic pursuits, internships or summer experiences.
  • The Highlands Ability Battery™ Identifies your natural abilities and helps you make the most of your strengths and personal style. It gives you objective data about your strengths - what you do easily and well.
  • Sherpani Partners' Values Card Sort will help you discover what is important to you for career satisfaction and success. Our priorities change over time and can help you decide what you want to do next.
  • The Birkman Method® a personality assessment for those who want to take an in-depth look at productive behaviors, stress behaviors, underlying needs and organization orientation.

The individual program is flexible and can be scheduled anytime during the year. We meet our Atlanta area clients in person and use a video calling service to work with students outside of Atlanta. We generally meet in two sessions for a total of 2 1/2 hours. Fees start at $375.
