Volunteer as a Job Shadow Host
Sherpani Partners welcomes volunteer involvement from companies, professional organizations and individuals. With exposure to successful individuals and professional work environments, our young participants come away with more tangible understandings of what those careers entail. They also gain a stronger sense of purpose.
Job shadow hosts invite a young person to shadow or follow them for part of a day as they go about their business. Our hosts typically spend two-three hours with a high school junior or senior.
By spending one afternoon doing your job in the company of a teen, you might make a lasting impression that means the world to him or her. You'll not only help the student gain a sense of what the real work world is like, but you'll also provide inspiration and direction.
Participation is fun and easy. You don't have to prepare anything. Simply share your career story and let your student watch you at work.
